Lasting from 1194 to 1184 BC.,The Trojan War was waged against the city of Troy by the Achaeans supposedly after Paris of Troy stole Helen from her husband Menelaus, the king of Sparta.
The war is considered among the most important events in Greek mythology, and was featured in many works of Greek literature, including the Iliad and the Odyssey by Homer as well as in poems.
After many battles trying to break the walls of Troy, the Greek army came up with the Trojan Horse strategy. While many of the Greek warriors hid inside the horse, the rest of the army took to the ships to throw off the Trojans.
Under the cover of darkness, the Greeks attacked and conquered the Trojans with little resistance.
